We compound the hCG Sterile Powder into Sublingual Spray containing hCG 125U/0.2ml to be taken twice a day, at 12 hourly intervals. It should be noted that our hCG is not a homeopathic product and we do not dilute injections to compound our hCG sublingual drops.


hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) is a hormone present in both men and women. hCG is a natural hormone produced in large quantities during a woman’s pregnancy to ensure proper nutrients for the growth of the baby. It has been found to be produced in great amounts in the placenta of pregnant females to aid in the control of vital metabolic functions. In non-pregnant women and men, on-going research is suggesting that hCG similarly increases metabolism similar to a pregnant female by helping the body release calories stored in fat.


The hCG weight loss protocol is a combination of low dose hCG combined with a very specific medically supervised very low calories 500 calories/day diet (VLCD). Successful weight loss on the hCG protocol diet requires strict adherence to “no fat or oil”. The protocol is designed to last three to six weeks, and is based on Three Phases (Dr Simeon’s Protocol Pounds and Inches). This combination is what allows people to lose weight and inches without hunger whilst improving energy levels. At the same time, it protects the body’s good fat and muscle from depletion, without the typical problems such as muscle loss and sagging skin.

Dr. Simeons studied extensively and found that in addition to a specific diet, hCG can help safely speed up weight loss. hCG is believed to break down your abnormal body fat, causing you to lose inches. At the same time, it protects your body’s good fat and muscle from depleting. While taking hCG your body is releasing 1200-1500 calories from the abnormal fat into your bloodstream each day from the fat reserves. After obtaining a doctor’s prescription for hCG our patients are given a 90 minute consultation with one of the Captain Stirling Pharmacy Specialist Weight Loss Pharmacists. The patient undergoes a VLA Quadscan which is a medical device for performing bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) listed with the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). The VLA Quadscan allows non-invasive measurements of several parameters related to body composition, hydration, fluid, fat, bone, muscle mass and nutritional states.


Patients are encouraged to undergo weekly VLA scans, which greatly improves patient compliance, patient understanding and resulting in superior weight loss as the hCG protocol program can be tailor-made specifically for the patient’s needs. The number of calories may be increased from 500 to 600, 700 and in some cases 800 calories per day.   Patient protein intake plays an important role in our hCG protocol.

The time it takes for the hCG Diet is normally one month to six weeks, most people can do anything for one month


Of interest, there appears to be a relationship between the weight lost and the reduction in cm of body girth, abdomen or hips. The hCG diet can result in a reduction in the body circumference  of 1 cm per kilogram of weight lost.


We can also compound the HCG to be administered by Troches 500U (flavour of choice), Sublingual Spray containing hCG 125U/0.2ml and Nasal Sprays 62.5U/0.1ml, 100U/0.1ml and 500U/ml. All used twice a day, at 12 hourly intervals and best to dose at the same time each day.

We recommend that when using the Sublingual Spray, Two sprays (0.2Ml) placed under the tongue and allow it to sit there for three to four minutes before swallowing. In addition before and after taking your hCG drops, avoid eating and drinking for 15 to 20 minutes to allow the most effective absorption. We do not recommend smoking.

What if I am Still Hungry?

Providing you eat adequate good quality high fat foods during the 2 day loading Phase 1 you should not be hungry and this is the best way to prepare and avoid future hunger.

However if you are hungry you may not be eating enough vegetables, check that your vegetable choices and you may have to increase your vegetable intake, but stay within your 500 calories. Make sure you are also drinking your 2 litres of water, green tea and if necessary add 2 to 3 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to curb your appetite.

In addition make sure that you are getting plenty of fibre, if you are still hungry add ground phylum seeds, 1-2 tablespoons in water 6-8 times per day. These are available in tablet form but if you do not like phylum, take a natural and gentle fibre alternative. Make sure you stay within your 500 Calorie diet.

Another alternative for hunger is to eat some of your food earlier in the day, you may for example cut up your apple, or orange and eat a portion for breakfast and the balance latter in the day, say afternoon tea.

How much weight will be lost?

As a guide about 1/2 kilo a day during the first two weeks following this, the weight loss will be slightly slower. If a total weight reduction of 6 to 7 kg is required then the 23 day should be adequate. Greater than this will require up to 40 days.

Should I still take my supplements?

We recommend that during Phase 2, you take the B group vitamins, remember your body will be re-using some vitamins and minerals previously, stored in your fat. Also many vitamins supplements containing hidden sugars such as lactose and fillers, which can and may interfere with weight loss.

During Phase 3 the reset you may restart most supplements except fish oils which you can commence in Phase 4

What about Exercise?

As you are on a VLCD 500 the balance of 1200 coming from the adipose fat, it is best to avoid excessive exercise. Some walking is fine, however if you have cheated and think vigorous exercise will assist in losing the extra weight, this will not help it will only make you hungry, increase your appetite and put unneeded stress on your body.


Continue taking your medication such as Thyroid during the hCG diet, if unsure contact your health care medical practitioner.

Sweetener only use Stevia drops no others as they can cause weight gain, saccharin can cause insulin release, Splenda, Aspartame (Equal) and MSG as they may make you hungrier and fuel addictions

Don’t over exercise as the aerobic exercise cardio actually ensures that the heart and lungs may be depleted on reserves. When returning to normal exercise start slow and build up.

If continuing Phase 2 past 23 days stop hCG one day a week to prevent immunity. Skip the same day each week and continue VLCD.  Immunity paqe 41 “Pounds and Inches”

Record your food intake each day.

Can I take birth control pills whilst on hCG? Dr Simeon states oral contraceptives may be used during treatment.

During menstruation it is a personal decision whether to stop taking hCG. By ceasing you may prevent a heavier flow. If you decide to cease the hCG you must continue the VLCD as soon as menstruation is over you may become extremely hungry if you don’t resume the hCG at once. However during menses you may continue taking hCG without problems, you may not lose as much weight during your period. It may be prudent to commence hCG after ceasing your period. See page 42 “Pounds and Inches”

If you stop hCG unexpectedly for a social event, you should stop 3 days before you go away so that you can do 72 hours (3days) of VLCD after your last dose, but if you have not had at least 20 days with both hCG and VLCD you are more likely to regain the weight. HCG remains in the body for 3 days

If you remain the same weight for four days, you may do an apple day, pages 80 of “Pounds and Inches”

If you weigh more than 2.1 lbs  (953gm) over your last sublingual dose on any day you must do a steak day pages 80-83 of “Pounds and Inches”

If you suspect that you have fluid retention (edema)  this may be caused by insufficient protein do an egg- steak-cheese day page 83 of “Pound and Inches’

After completing three weeks of no refined sugars or starches, you may proceed to adding small portions of sugars and carbohydrates, always controlled by morning weight.

Should you experience leg cramps Magnesium or Potassium 99mg take care with Potassium

Detox bath for headaches, itchy skin or a rash, your body is suffering from released toxins from the adipose fat tissue. Try a cleansing detox bath in the evening, add 2 cups of Epsom salts or one cup of baking soda and one cup Epsom salts to a tub of warm water, as hot as you can stand and get into it for 20 minutes.  Detox baths should be done three times a week.

It is normal to feel a little cold while on the hCG diet just rub up to keep warm.

Regardless how fat you are for every Kilogram of weight lost you should reduce the circumference of your abdomen or hips by 1cm. See The Ratio of Pounds to Inches page 71 “ Pound and Inches”

Some Final Thoughts On Maintaining Overall Health

  • Do something you love
  • Reduce stress levels, meditate, take a vacation
  • Exercise four to five times a week combine aerobic, anaerobic and flexibility (yoga, tai chi)
  • Continue weighing yourself daily in the morning
  • Make socializing with family and friends a must
  • Take a multi mineral vitamin capsule daily (nutritional supplements)
  • Take a probiotic daily
  • Eat real food, lean meats- chicken, fish, eggs, dairy, naturally highly coloured fresh organic vegetables, fresh fruit
  • Eat healthy fats like almonds and coconut oil
  • Avoid deep fried foods
  • Don’t drink soft drinks, replace with green tea or lemon lightly salted water
  • Drink lots of pure water 2 litres per day
  • Get plenty of sleep at least seven to eight hours per night
  • Eat breakfast before 10 am, lunch noon, nutritious snack between 2:00 and 3:00pm, evening meal around 6:00 pm and before bed a couple of bits of high quality snack.
  • Use unrefined pink Salt to taste
  • If taking a statin take CoQ10 150mg twice a day
  • Watch out for sugars in processed foods, read the labels if you cannot say the word don’t eat it.
  • If you are a smoker- give it up
  • Reduce your tea, coffee (caffeine) sugar, chocolate and alcohol intake
